I like to build things and figure out exactly how they work.
Back then I was studying computer science in college, I was drawn to understanding the mechanisms behind the scenes and crafting my own works from scratch. This led to my first keyboard startup, which I founded in my early twenties. After designing, manufacturing, and shipping hundreds of mechanical keyboard kits worldwide, I started my first full-time job in 2023.
Working as the head of the IT department at a leading tuition centre in Hong Kong, I am responsible for various duties including managing IT operations, maintaining the availability of the centre's IT systems and infrastructure, planning and executing IT projects, and developing full-stack in-house applications...basically I am the 'IT department' per se.
However, what I enjoy most is training my IT colleagues, teaching them how to create robust, modern, and maintainable full-stack applications, explaining the code under the hood, breaking down how each tool works, and why we need them.
